Jonathan Jaffe represents plaintiffs on behalf of approximately 150,000,000 putative class members against Facebook for the misappropriation of users’ names and likenesses in advertisements called “Sponsored Stories”. Plaintiffs have reached a settlement that the Court has preliminarily approved. Class members, which includes nearly all Facebook users in the United States, may file a claim form to possibly recover money. The settlement also provides for significant injunctive relief, most notably, giving users heretofore nonexistent control over their appearances in advertisements.
